We proudly opened our doors on September 24, 2018, as the first-ever expansion of Mia's Table beyond the original Kirby location. I'm Arelys Villanueva, and I've had the honor of being part of this incredible journey from the very beginning. I joined as a cashier, one of the very first team members at this location, and within our first year, I was given the opportunity to step into a leadership role. Today, I proudly co-manage Mia's Shenandoah alongside Diego Gonzalez, our Kitchen Manager—who, like me, has been here since day one.

Opening this restaurant wasn't just another milestone for the company—it was a bold leap into a new community, fueled by our commitment to warm hospitality, family-first dining, and meals made with love. When we first arrived, many people believed the location was "cursed," with no other restaurant able to make it long-term. But nearly seven years later, we're still here—stronger than ever and proud to be a local favorite in Shenandoah.

What truly makes this restaurant special is our team. Many of our back-of-house members have been with us for years, and several have been here since opening day. This tight-knit group creates a warm, consistent experience that keeps guests coming back and allows our restaurant to feel more like family than just a place to work.

Diego Gonzalez, who has been an anchor of our kitchen team since day one, shares this message:
